Why Choose a Fort Knox Gun Safe?
Fort Knox Gun Safes are superior to other safes due to several different specific points of construction put into every Fort Knox Safe. Below are 3
1. Reinforced Fire Door

Reinforced Fire Door? Most safes in the industry build “composite” style doors, however Fort Knox reinforces their doors: The reinforced fire door construction starts with a solid plate of steel followed by two layers of fire board and finished with another layer of steel. This process gives Fort Knox Gun Safes more steel when compared to a “composite” door. This reinforced fire door also provides added strength from the steel edge of the door. The radius or bends in the door add strength but only if it is supported from the inside of the door with extra steel. More steel plus the radius edges make the best door in the industry. Feel the difference; open a Fort Knox Safe door and then open a competitor’s safe door.
2. Composite Door System

Unlike Fort Knox’s reinforced fire door (discussed above), most safes have a “composite door." The composite door gives the appearance of a thick door at a much cheaper price, however only lighter gauge material can be used in a composite door. Without the extra steel to support it, the door can flex, both at the doors edge as well as the handle area. Most safe manufactuers will not disclose the content and construction of the door; thus making it much harder for the consumer to understand.
3. Corner Bolts

Unique to The Fort Knox Gun Safe, the patented corner bolt is availble on the Defender, Protector, Guardian, Executive, Titan and Legend models (some models may vary). Not only does the corner bolt show very well, it lends to the security of the safe. Most theives attempt to attack the safe through the handle and lock. After failing at those points they turn their attention to the corner of the door. There is extra reinforcement on the corners.
